Quick Installation Steps

This guide provides detailed steps and explanations to ensure a smooth installation process for DBaasNow. Adjust paths and commands as per your specific environment. If you have any questions or encounter issues during installation, refer to the attached hardware and software requirements documents for additional guidance.


Initial Steps

1. Download & Unzip Tar Installer

  • Select “Request Product Download / Licensing” in the contact form.
  • Download the tar installer from given link and saved into Linux /opt/software/:
     tar -xzf dbaasnow_v*.tar.gz -C /opt/software/

2. Execute Installation Installer

  • Navigate to the installation directory and run the installer:
     cd /opt/software/dbaasnow_v*
     ./install_dbaasnow_standalone
  • The installation process typically takes about 20 minutes; duration may vary depending on your system.

Post-Installation

Once the installation completes successfully, follow these post-installation steps to enable all DBaasNow features and prepare the environment for operational use.

1. Confirm Installation Completion

  • After the installer finishes, a confirmation message will appear indicating successful installation.
  • Copy the DBaasNow Console URL displayed by the installer.

2. Access DBaasNow Console

  • Open any modern web browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari).
  • Browse to the Console URL.
  • Log in using the default credentials: admin / admin

    Important: For security reasons, change the admin password immediately after the first login.

3. Activate License

To enable full DBaasNow functionality, perform license activation:

  1. Free Trial License Request
    • Contact info@dbaasnow.com to obtain your free trial license key.
    • Or select “Request Product Download / Licensing” in the contact form — our sales team will get back to you soon.
  2. Provide installation and system details so the team can generate your trial license promptly:
    • Installation type
    • Operating system details
    • Number of managed servers
    • Database technologies planned
  3. Navigate to: Admin → License Activation
  4. Enter the Activation Key and click Activate.

Administrator Setup

After login and license activation, proceed with the following configuration steps.

1. General Setting

Configure essential platform parameters:

  • Platform-wide settings
  • Date/time and regional formats
  • Global defaults for lifecycle operations

2. Organization

Define organizational structures for logical grouping of systems and access management.

3. Application

Set up applications under each organization to align with internal roles and departments.

4. System Integration

This section is automatically updated by the installer.

It displays:

  • Lifecycle Manager
  • Plugin/Proxy Server
  • Monitoring Server
  • Ops Manager (if applicable)
  • Service Operation Manager

No manual configuration is typically required.

5. Service Credential

Add credentials required for:

  • SSH access
  • Remote deployment
  • Folder creation
  • OS-level operations

Optional Configuration

1. Server Pool

Register servers that will be used for database provisioning:

  • Add new hosts
  • Assign database technologies
  • Manage server inventory

2. Version Control

Manage certified database versions to ensure stable provisioning:

  • PostgreSQL
  • MongoDB
  • Neo4j
  • Other supported technologies

Start Provisioning Your First Database

After completing the post-installation configuration, you can begin provisioning your first database instance directly from the DBaasNow Console.
